“ Close proximity from the Kaiser Emergency parking lot on the corner of Vineyard Valley and Valley BLvd . I always pass by here off the 10 fwy going to Kaiser hospital. Wanted to give their home made Menudo a try , serves every day and fresh baked pie from a vendor . Old diner feel with green plastic booth seatings and chairs seatings available as well. 10% discount for Veterans off their regular menu . Serves American breakfast, American traditional meals , sandwiches, soups , salads etc. Also Latin American breakfast and food as well . From my observation they serve big portions. Melanie my waiter were great , I was there for lunch 11:45am in her section I can see she was the only server . Today was a busy lunch rush and Melanie and her assistant didn't miss a beat . They both were attentive, checking in on me and the rest of her section often. I was surprised menudo tasted good , a little salty at first sip . with 3 wedges of lemon squeezed in the soup it balanced out. The soup didn't have a funky strong fowl smell like most restaurants does. Didn't leave my lips feeling greasy either , the tripe had a chewy bite , not to mushy gelatinous texture . Love that they offer fresh cilantro and chopped onions , also pepper flakes and dry oregano . 4/5 for me and would be back for menudo again at $12.99 a bowl .
